DIVORCE MEDIATION

Resolve your divorce together—without turning it into a legal battle.

Kids-First™ mediation gives you a structured, collaborative way to work through the decisions that matter most and create agreements you can both live with.

$5,000 flat fee for the full mediation process.

Additional financial-professional fees may apply when specialized analysis is needed.

A BETTER WAY TO REACH AGREEMENT

Mediation helps you make decisions together.

Divorce requires decisions about your children, finances, property, support, and what life will look like moving forward.

Mediation gives you a structured place to work through those decisions without handing control of the process over to two competing legal teams.

Parenting
Schedules, decision-making, communication, holidays, and the practical realities of co-parenting.

Assets & Debts
How property, accounts, debts, and other financial responsibilities will be divided.

Child Support
How your children’s financial needs will be supported moving forward.

Spousal Support
Whether support is appropriate and, if so, what an agreement may look like.

Home & Property
What happens with the marital home, refinancing, ownership, and other major assets.

Future Agreements
How you will handle communication, future decisions, and disagreements after the divorce is complete.

WHY COUPLES CHOOSE MEDIATION

More control. Less conflict.
Better outcomes for families.

Mediation gives you the opportunity to reach a comprehensive agreement in a way that is more collaborative, more predictable, and more focused on what matters most.

You stay in control.
You and your spouse make the decisions rather than turning them over to a judge.

The cost is predictable.
You know the mediation fee before the process begins.

The process is collaborative.
The goal is problem-solving, not positioning against one another.

Your children stay at the center.
Kids-First™ mediation keeps the long-term needs of your family in view as agreements are developed.

The process is flexible.
We can work through issues thoughtfully and adapt the process to the needs of your family.

THE GOAL

A comprehensive agreement does not require a courtroom battle.

Mediation gives you a structured way to make informed decisions together, with the right professionals involved where their expertise is needed.

WHEN A FINANCIAL PROFESSIONAL BECOMES PART OF THE TEAM

Some financial decisions deserve specialized analysis.

For straightforward matters, we may be able to work through the financial issues directly in mediation. For more complex matters, I will require the involvement of a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA).

A CDFA will generally be required when the agreement involves:

  • Division of retirement accounts

  • Refinancing or more complex home-equity decisions

  • Significant tax consequences

  • Spousal support

  • Child support

  • More complicated equitable distribution

The CDFA works alongside the mediation process and charges separately for their services.

MEDIATION DOESN’T MEAN “NO ATTORNEYS”

It means using attorneys differently.

Attorneys can still play an important role in your divorce.

You may want legal advice about your rights, independent review of the agreement, or assistance converting your mediated terms into a formal separation agreement.

The difference is that your attorneys do not necessarily need to manage the entire negotiation.

Instead, mediation allows you to do much of the decision-making together and bring attorneys in where their expertise adds the most value.

IS MEDIATION A GOOD FIT?

Mediation may be a good fit if:

‍✓ You both want to reach agreement outside of court
✓ You are willing to exchange information openly
✓ You can participate in structured joint conversations
‍✓ You want more control over the outcome
‍✓ You want to reduce unnecessary conflict
‍✓ You care about preserving a workable relationship after divorce
‍✓ You want a more predictable process and cost

Mediation may not be appropriate if:

‍✘ There are significant safety concerns, coercive control, hidden assets, serious substance abuse, or one spouse is unwilling to participate honestly and in good faith.

Part of our initial consultation is determining whether mediation is appropriate for your situation.
